WUNDERWERK NATUR LIVE SHOWS 2026
How we protect our planet
Earth is an oasis of life in the vast depths of the universe. Yet glaciers and polar sea ice are melting away, extreme weather events are becoming more frequent, and humanity is undermining its own future by overusing ecosystems and natural resources. With powerful images, stories, and scientific insight, geoscientist and photographer Christian Klepp shows how biodiversity, climate, and nature work —and how they can be protected.
Earth, wildlife, humanity, nature, evolution, climate—everything is inseparably connected. Indigenous peoples have preserved a profound understanding of nature’s balance for thousands of years. “In modern civilization, we have lost our loving and empathetic view of Earth,” says Christian Klepp. “A deeper understanding of time, cycles, and the planet’s delicate equilibria holds the key to living sustainably on Earth.”
As a nature photographer and Earth scientist, Christian Klepp travels the most fascinating places on the planet to document these vital interconnections and share them through compelling stories. Following the great success of his presentation Wunderwerk Erde (“The Miracle of Earth”), which explores how Earth’s system works, Christian Klepp will debut his brand-new show in 2026—one that places our love for nature at the very center.
All dates in February and March 2026, links to ticket booking, and further information can be found on the Explora Webseite.

WUNDERWERK ERDE LIVE SHOWS 2026
How our planet works
It’s a new kind of experience for Explora: natural science, professional photography, and engaging storytelling—combined in a live show that reveals how our planet works. Christian Klepp makes it happen. The geoscientist, who holds a PhD, spends the Arctic winter aboard a research vessel, photographs rare rock formations in the desert, hears the explosive boom of a disintegrating meteor, and discovers witnesses to Earth’s earliest beginnings. It is, in essence, a love poem to our planet.
According to Christian Klepp, understanding Earth is key to treating our planet with empathy, responsibility and in a sustainable way. But what does that truly mean? The answer, he says, is not found in science alone. For the meteorologist, geologist, paleontologist, and astronomer, it is the research expeditions—and the many months spent alone with his camera in the wilderness—that have led him to a deeper understanding of Earth. Christian Klepp encounters polar bears and grizzlies, photographs erupting geysers under the arc of the Milky Way, discovers four-billion-year-old rocks, observes collapsing glacier caves, and even survives a helicopter crash in the Arctic.
His images capture not only the beauty of our planet but also the story of Earth’s deep time—revealing, in a moving way, how precious and fragile nature truly is. In the words of one Discovery Days visitor: “I’ve always found starry skies, glaciers, and volcanoes fascinating. But I never imagined that bacteria and rocks could captivate me so completely. Finally, a scientist with a gripping story!”
